Halewood Factory to Close Over Half Term

Land Rover‘s Halewood factory is to close the Halewood plant from October 27 – 31 due to falling demand in production. The factory builds the Jaguar X-Type Saloon and the LandRover Freelander.
The fall in demand experienced by LandRover has already led to cutbacks at the Castle Bromwich and Solihull. Speculation that a loss of UK jobs could happen next year has been ruled out by the company and no redundancies have been announced.
Parent company, Tata are also experiencing problems with the launch of its Nano microcar – billed as the worlds cheapest car, as farmers angry about not being compensated for land the company used to build a new factory staged a series of protests.
Despite the economic downturn in the UK, Land Rover is developing new markets, particularly in China and Russia which are offsetting falling sales elsewhere, which stands the company in good stead.

I’m a Range Rover/LANDROVER owner, model 1999; we have lost the key to the engine…
Can you forward to me the right e-mail factory or distributor center, so that I can order and purchase a new key; it’s very very important, the automobile is sitting dormant now for 2-3 months.
Sincerely,
Prof. Paul S. Cutter

To offer an update, the details of the closure, to my knowledge is that Jaguar Land Rover will close one of its Midlands factories – either the Solihull Land Rover plant or the Castle Bromwich Jaguar factory – after 2014. JLR, is owned by Indian manufacturing giant Tata.
Tata are looking to consolidate its manufacturing operations as they have been spread across three factories. It is challenging for luxury manufacturers at the moment, but reports indicate that without Jaguar at Castle Bromwich, combined with Browns Lane Coventry, JLR will not have a proper facility.
