Landrover Carnival to be held in Malaysia

The word Carnival brings to mind images of people dancing through the streets of Rio to the sound of a Samba beat. Lithe tanned limbs wiggling to the music and giant feather headdresses. It doesn’t perhaps bring to mind Landrovers and Alfa Romeos. Until now that is.
Any of our readers in Malaysia will be lucky enough to be able to attend the first ever ‘combined Land Rover and Alfa Romeo Carnival’ at the end of the month to celebrate two iconic brands. Visitors to the carnival will be able to buy new vehicles, or have a free safety check performed on their Landrover. Test drives will be available for those considering buying a Defender or a Freelander. There will also be Landrover parts for sale with a portion of the profits going to the PAWS animal shelter.
The two day event will also include an “England versus Italy mini football challenge” in honor of the respective manufacturer’s home country. This will, presumably feature mini Italians (played by Malaysian children) rolling over ten times after being fouled and the mini England team losing on penalties.
According to thestar.com there will also be cooking demonstrations of popular Italian and British delicacies. I’m not sure what is considered a British delicacy, fish and chips maybe or tea and biscuits.
So if you live in Malaysia and own a Land Rover head on down to Section 13 Petaling Jaya on May 31 and June 1, 2008 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Don’t forget your feather boa and your dancing shoes!
