Skype On Pay As You Go Phones

Skype is great. I much prefer it to MSN Messenger, for one thing it can save your conversations, very useful for work especially.
The other useful thing about Skype is the cheap phone calls. To capitalise on this, both parties need to have Skype installed, but the software is free to download, is a proven technology and saves money. What’s not to like?
Something interesting about Skype on mobiles is that you can now get free Skype on pay as you go phones if you top up by a certain amount every month. We are all aware of how expensive PAYG phone calls usually are, so using Skype would save quite a bit of money. Most recent 3g mobile models have the ability to download and smartphones and iPhones have no problem installing the software I believe and it doesn’t take long to add contact information for friends – although I suppose this depends on how popular you are.
I would definitely advise setting up a separate account for work and social Skypes though. I’m not sure I would want to know about the latest developments on the new work’s coffee machine on my day off.
I think technology such as Skype will become more and more part of our daily lives and landlines will become obsolete in the future, all communication will be done via mobile phones of some description.

Pay as you go phones are great for people who don’t use their mobile a lot. I also think that in the not too distant future we will rely on our mobiles to organise our daily lives.
