Spanish Recessions To Be Made Illegal

Spain has come up with an ingenious solution to economic doom and gloom — make it illegal.

Last week Spain proposed that the EU set binding economic goals for its member countries, with penalties for those that don’t meet the targets. So Europeans anxious about recession and unemployment can relax—if Spain’s Prime Minister José Luis Rodriquez Zapatero has his way, these inconveniences will soon be forbidden.

What an excellent idea. I was planning to go to Spain, hire a car and travel about a bit. If not making a profit is made illegal, it might be worth moving over there because employment will be 0%, the cost of living will effectively go down as everyone will be over-performing and receive huge pay rises every year. I hear Malaga has some great golf courses and its an excellent way to learn the language. I previously thought that golf ruined a good walk, but not having ever tried it, that’s probably a bit unfair. After all, golf is a good way to get out and meet the rich and famous.
